One of Poland’s greatest jazz pianists,
as well as composer, born in Pinczów, Poland.
Artur Dutkiewicz is called the “Ambassador of Polish jazz” —
in the last few years he has performed
in 50 countries around the world.
$45 online or $55 at the door on the night.
Programme will include the following:
SONGS OF THE WORLD ethnojazz
The program refers to the Polish tradition of dialogue between cultures,
and consists of jazz improvisations on songs from the different cultures of the world:
East and West Europe, and the Middle and Far East.
Songs of highly charged energy are separated by moments of meditation.
JAZZ MAZURKAS jazz / classic
Artur Dutkiewicz presents his own contemporary jazz mazurkas from his latest album “Mazurki.”
The mazurka (in Polish, mazurek, pl. mazurki) is a Polish folk dance in triple meter.
Artur’s mazurkas are influenced by F. Chopin, K. Szymanowski, B. Bartok and
Polish folk music, combined with modern jazz improvisation.
The compositions draw on European improvised music stemming from traditions of
classical and contemporary music.
Doors open at 8:00 for all shows 8:30 – 11pm
