that makes for a captivating evening out

PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE

Hailing from Queensland, jazz singer Robyn Brown brings her show ‘Mood Indigo’ to Ruby’s Room.  Exploring songs from some of the early blues singers like Bessie Smith, Ethel Waters and Lil’Green, she takes us on a journey of exploration through the development of jazz and blues, weaving her way through to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald and sharing the stories of the music. Both entertaining and informative, Robyn’s warmth, grace and natural ability to ‘feel’ and interpret the music has delighted audiences and impressed critics across Australia.

Robyn will me accompanied by Chris Sommervelle on piano.

“A gifted vocalist of sultriness and style who plays off the band sharing a common joy of improvisation, Brown suffuses the blues with elegance and jazz with attitude.”

Al Hensley, Rhythms Magazine
